Bilin Village "Advatar" Protest

The Palestinian village of Bil’in reenacts the James Cameron film Avatar in their demonstration against the Israeli security barrier.

The local residents have likened their situation to the film “Avatar” because of the barrier’s proximity to their village. In the widely popular, the blue-skinned natives, called the Na’vi, defend themselves against a corporation that has occupied their land to exploit its. The Bilin protesters say the Israelis are occupying their land in a similar manner by constructing the security barrier (wall) and thus seizing their land.
